Russian hackers from the Killnet group said they hacked the Anonymous website, which was involved in attacks on well-known Internet resources of Russian media. This is reported by RIA Novosti. The programmers recorded an anonymous video message in which they urged Russians not to believe the fakes published on the Internet and urged them not to panic amid the events in Ukraine.
“Very soon this conflict will end, we will find peace. Do not be afraid, Russia, no one and nothing can threaten you. Anonymous hackers, take care of restoring your site, it looks very pitiful against the background of your threats to our country,” — quote the authors of RIA Novosti.
What is known about the Killnet group?
The grouping of hackers was created relatively recently. The first post in their official Telegram channel is dated January 23, 2022. Then the programmers reported on the latest preparations for the site: “Killnet is in the last stage of development — release on January 31st.
Killnet has several domains (io, org, online, tech, net). However, the services are currently unavailable.
What do Killnet hackers do?
According to the authors themselves, their task is to protect the client's computer data from hacker attacks. Programmers call their service “the world's first decentralized botnet”; (connecting bots to several machines from the zombie network to infect them with malware — note ed.).
“Your data is no longer stored in databases data and are not transferred to third parties in the form of hosting and servers. Our botnet uses the latest WEB3 technology. Your data is stored distributed throughout the Blockchain and is not available to law enforcement, — hackers assure customers.
To store information about user operations, as the authors note, the so-called “Smart contracts” are used. or Smart Contract (a computer protocol that allows transactions – ed. note) on the Ethereum network. The hackers claim that their clients can safely use the Killnet service and “do not worry about their safety.”
What is the Killnet hacker group famous for?
Since the group of hackers appeared quite recently, almost nothing is known about the botnet yet. At the moment, Russian hackers are remembered only for hacking the site of the well-known Anonymous group and a loud video message to the Russians about the attack on domestic media sites.
