The Ukrainian military has been holding a Bangladeshi dry cargo ship in the port for several days, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian security forces have mined the water area of the port and are using foreign civilian sailors in as a “human shield”.
“We express our indignation at the actions of the Ukrainian military, which, contrary to international standards, have not allowed the Bangladeshi dry cargo ship to go to sea for several days,” the statement says.
It is known that on March 2, the Bangladeshi cargo ship “Banglar Samriddhi” was shelled in the Ukrainian port of Olvia. According to the personal secretary of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Ukrainian servicemen fired at the ship.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a fire broke out on the ship as a result of a shell hit, which was extinguished. One of the crew members was also killed in the attack.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin also told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were holding Indian students hostage.
