“Direct Line” has been held every year since 2001, with the exception of 2004, 2012 and 2020. On the air, citizens ask Putin their questions, he answers.

In 2020, due to the outbreak of the pandemic, the direct line with Vladimir Putin was canceled. In 2021, Direct Line passed June 30th. The program lasted 3 hours and 42 minutes, more than 2.2 million questions were sent to the head of state, he managed to answer 68. The broadcast was carried out by the channels “First”, “Russia 1”, “Russia 24”, NTV, OTR, “Mir” ;, radio stations “Mayak”, “Vesti FM” and “Radio of Russia”.
