SpaceX carried out the launch of the Falcon 9 carrier rocket with the Italian radar satellite for remote sensing of the Earth COSMO-SkyMed, according to the website of the American company.
The launch took place at 18:11 in time East Coast of the United States (02:11 Moscow time Tuesday) from the site of the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle with the Italian radar satellite was postponed four times. It was originally scheduled for January 27.
Three times SpaceX had to postpone it for 24 hours due to adverse weather conditions in the Cape Canaveral area. The day before, the launch was postponed due to “the presence of a sea ship in the danger zone.”
Earlier it became known that the American company SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle with a batch of 49 Starlink satellites.
