The head of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Ireland, Simon Coveney, spoke about decision Moscow to transfer the exercises of the Navy outside the exclusive economic zone of the republic.

Earlier it became known that Russia would postpone the exercises of the Navy, such a decision was made by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu so as not to interfere with the normal work of Irish fishermen in traditional fishing areas.
Russian Ambassador Yury Filatov noted that the Irish side received notification of the exercises in advance. However, Irish Foreign Minister Simon Cowen said that military maneuvers 240 kilometers from the coast of the state are not welcome.
