Journalist and media manager Ilya Krasilshchik, against whom a criminal case was initiated for discrediting the Armed Forces, announced the arrest their bank accounts.
“The accounts were arrested yesterday. Today the manager of TinkoffBank calls and offers to develop an investment strategy for me. Please invest my minus 7.5 million in government bonds, — he wrote on Twitter. The journalist published a screenshot showing that not only his ruble account was arrested, but also his accounts in dollars, euros, Israeli shekels and UAE dirhams.
Information about the initiation of a criminal case against Dyer appeared on April 22. On July 7, information appeared in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that the journalist was wanted.
The dyer then explained to RBC that he was put on the wanted list for the post about Bucha.
After reports of criminal prosecution, Dyer wrote on Telegram that he was finally leaving Yandex. “We have been planning my exit from Yandex for a month and a half. But I think that after today's news, I should somehow decide on this faster. As of today, I no longer work for the company (officially, I haven't really done anything since February)”, — then he said.
In November 2021, Dyer resigned as head of Yandex.Lavka. Speaking about his decision, he explained: “It’s one thing — build a new service (and here my media experience suddenly came in handy), and another thing— make the perfect everyday service. From July 2008 to June 2013 Dyer was the editor-in-chief of the Afisha publication. In 2014, he became the publisher of Meduza. (recognized in Russia as a foreign media agent). He left the project in 2019 and in the same year moved to work at Yandex, where he took on the company's international projects and headed the Yandex.Lavka food delivery service.
Human rights activist Pavel Chikov said in July that that Dyer is abroad.
In parallel with the case against Dyer, under the same article, a criminal case was initiated against oppositionist Vladimir Kara-Murza (recognized as a foreign agent), who was detained in Moscow and arrested. According to article 207.3. The Criminal Code of Russia (public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces, the exercise by state bodies of their powers) threatens him with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if the court decides that his actions entailed grave consequences.
On July 27, lawyer Vadim Prokhorov announced that another criminal case had been opened against Kara-Murza under Art. 284.1 of the Criminal Code on the activities of an “undesirable organization”.
