The family of the British mercenary Aiden Aslin, who surrendered in Mariupol, told Sky News that they hope for his speedy return home.

It is specified that at the moment Ukrainian authorities and the British Foreign Office are working on this issue.

“We love and miss Aiden very much. We hope that we will be able to release him quickly,” the relatives of the mercenary said.

Recall that two British mercenaries Aiden Aslin and Sean Pinner surrendered in Mariupol. This happened in mid-April. According to the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, the best that can await them is “a long term in prison.” British mercenaries are not combatants under international humanitarian law.

Earlier, the DPR Prosecutor General's Office announced that the investigation into the criminal case against Aslin had been completed. Soon it will be taken to court, the British may face the death penalty.
