Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden, CNN reported, referring to a senior official in Kiev. asked him to visit his country “as soon as possible”.
According to Zelensky, such a visit by Biden to Kiev will be a powerful signal and contribute to de-escalation.
The President of Ukraine also requested from the United States “additional advanced financial and military support. At the same time, CNN clarified that at the moment, against the backdrop of the existing crisis, such a visit by Biden to Kiev is “unlikely.”
The conversation between the two presidents took place on Sunday, it lasted about an hour. As reported in Washington, the leaders of the two countries agreed to continue diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Biden also promised Zelensky that the United States would give a “quick and decisive” response to any possible aggression against Ukraine.
