AvtoVAZ will temporarily stop assembling cars in Togliatti

The new regime will come into force at the enterprise on March 5.

The media became aware of the new work schedule, which is being introduced by the Russian company AvtoVAZ at a plant in Togliatti.

According to “Vedomosti” citing a source in the company, the assembly of cars will be temporarily suspended at the plant due to a shortage of components.

The plant reported that there is a shortage of semiconductors for cars that were previously supplied from Germany.

The company could not give a timeline for completing the downtime.

It was planned that the shutdown of the enterprise would take several days, but due to a disruption in supplies, the timing remained uncertain.

As the source clarified in &#8220 ;AvtoVAZ”, the shutdown of the plant is not connected with restrictive measures, moreover, it was planned in advance.

As Topnews reported, the US and the EU imposed a number of anti-Russian sanctions against the backdrop of a military special operation to protect the population of Donbass, which Russia announced on February 24.

This led to the devaluation of the ruble and instability in the domestic market.
